About our Musical Director

Meg's passion is singing and to create through it, a sense of harmony and belonging.  She believes strongly in both the creation and nurture of community life.

“I love choir practices.  Singing brings us together and makes us happy and healthy.  It has helped me through some difficult times and has always brought joy to my life and relationships.  I want to share this with others”.

Meg is the daughter of an accomplished church organist and Director of Music.  It is from him that she acquired her love of singing and choral music.  However, she rejects the stuffiness of church choirs, all her choir practices are fun!

Meg writes many of the arrangements herself and believes in giving every singing part a share of the tune.  She is a member of the Natural Voice Network  who say that singing is our birthright.  Meg has worked in her community for many years and is an inspirational piano teacher. She has a son who is a singer songwriter and one half of the singing duo, “Ida Mae” (see below).

She is a trained therapist routed in the Person Centred model with additiontal training in other theories such as PsychosynthesisGestalt and NLP.  She and has worked as a therapist with various organisations including The Eating Disorders Association and Rape Crisis.
